Dr. Abdulaziz Alghamdi

Dr. Abdulaziz Alghamdi is a board-certified radiation oncologist with specialized expertise in both pediatric and adult proton therapy. He currently practices at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he is committed to delivering cutting-edge, patient-centered cancer care.

Dr. Alghamdi earned his medical degree with Second Degree Honors from King Saud University, where he was recognized for outstanding academic performance. He completed his internship at King Khaled University Hospital before going on to residency training in Radiation Oncology at Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada.

During his residency, he took on leadership roles in medical education, serving on the Radiation Oncology Residency Program Admission Committee and delivering structured teaching sessions in radiation physics, contouring, and treatment planning for junior residents.

In 2022, Dr. Alghamdi was selected for a prestigious fellowship in Pediatric and Adult Proton Radiation Oncology at the University of Florida Health Proton Therapy Institute in Jacksonville, USA. There, he developed advanced skills in the use of proton therapy for pediatric and complex oncologic cases.

Dr. Alghamdi has presented at national medical conferences, including the 21st Saudi ORL-H&N Surgery Conference. He is the recipient of multiple academic awards and was granted a competitive scholarship from the Oncology Department at King Faisal Specialist Hospital.

He holds certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Radiation Oncology and is an active member of several leading international professional societies, including CARO, ESTRO, ASTRO, PROS, and others.

His clinical and academic focus is on integrating advanced technologies and evidence-based practice to elevate the standard of cancer care locally and internationally.
